I have over 20 years experience in the fitness industry and was a former fitness trainer for the English National Ballet School. After years of high impact fitness training, I had many chronic injuries, and suffered with constant back pain. I was introduced to pilates and have never looked back.
Pilates has changed my opinion about exercise, and what it means to have a healthy body. Exercise doesn't have to be exhausting to be effective. The pilates method will enable you to re-balance your body, so it can function with more efficiency. My aim as a teacher, is to give my clients a better understanding of their bodies, and to help them achieve their own goals. After practicing Pilates for many years, I trained and qualified with the Pilates Foundation in 2007. My course leader was Anoushka Boone, a founding member and former board member of the PILATESfoundation, at Pilates In Motion.
The Pilates Foundation was founded in 1996 and is the only not-for-profit Pilates association in the UK. They aim to establish and maintain quality and excellence in Pilates teaching. The Foundation promotes the original works of Joseph and Clara Pilates but continues to evolve with current knowledge and research, while honouring the original repertoire and principles .
I am a fully qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, including Exercise Movement, Exercise to Music, Gym and Step. I am on The Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 3 and am a member of Fitness Professionals.I have full public liability insurance, and am a fully qualified first aider.
